God's Glory...

Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His Glory. Isaiah 6:3

What is "God's Glory?" God's Glory is the revelation of His being, nature and presence. Sometimes with physical phenomena. This was shown in the cloud which led the Israelites through the desert. Ex. 16:10. Rested on Mt. Sinai. Ex. 24:15-17. And filled the tabernacle. Ex 40:34,35. Isaiah 64:2 - God's Glory is His overwhelming presence. God's appearance is so intense that it is like a consuming fire that burns everything in its path. The Hebrew translation for Glory in Isaiah 6:3 is kabowd. It means, splendor, copiousness. What is copiousness? Websters dictionary says - yielding something abundantly, (a harvest) plentiful in number, full of thought, or information or matter. Profuse or exuberant in words or expression, or style. Taking place on a large scale. That is enough to make you shout hallelujah! Let Psalm 63:1,2 be your prayer - O God, thou art my God; early will I seek Thee: my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth for Thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is. To see Thy power and Thy Glory so as I have seen Thee in the sanctuary. O Lord, fill my life with Your Glory. Give me revelation of your being, nature, and presence. Let Your overwhelming presence be so intense in my life, that it is like a consuming fire, it burns up everything in its path that is not pleasing to You. May my life yield an abundant harvest, and be exuberant in the expression of praise. This is my prayer in Jesus Name, Amen.

The "Heart" of the Matter...

The Bible says that the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9
I am learning I really know little about myself. We sing a song, "Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, I want to see you." We should be singing, "Open the eyes of my heart, I want to see myself." Show me myself, Lord. We can't truly see the Lord until we see ourselves. The more of the blinders the Lord removes from my heart, the more clearly I am seeing Him. Your heart is a darker place than you may know. Man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on our heart. ISamuel 16:7. It is what you speak from, the Bible says. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Luke 6:45We are masters at showing the world what we want them to see, but the real us, the part of us that is so hidden, we carefully guard. We wear this garment of self-protection. Jesus said that the Pharisees were concerned with the cleaning of the outside of the cup, but their inward parts were full of wickedness. Luke 11:39 Sometimes our heart problems are obvious to the world. We outwardly show anger, hostility, etc. We turn to all kind of worldly pleasures and comforts to ease our hurting hearts. We are addicted to food, alcohol, drugs, shopping, t.v, anything to fill that empty place in our heart. When what we need is not another chocolate chip cookie, what we need is heart surgery. A visit to the great physician. Ask the Lord to show you your heart. Lord, show me, me. The real me. Not the person wearing the garment of self-protection the world sees, but me, what You see.

Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. Psalm 26:2

The Life and Death of Michael Jackson...

No one can deny his talent. He was a musical genius. From composing, to singing, dancing, choreography, etc. The list goes on. His God given talents were many. Who didn't love to hear and watch him perform? His death was untimely, a very talented man leaving this earth before his time. Why?

His life and death can be summed up in one word. Sad. That's right, sad. It is sad when God gives someone such a talent and they CHOOSE to live their life the way he lived it. I always wondered what he was hiding from. Every time you saw him he looked different. He had numerous plastic surgeries. His home looked like it was built for an 8 yr old child. There were allegations of child abuse in his early life from his father. Was he using his money to buy something money can't buy? How can someone make the amount of money he made and die $400 million dollars in debt? I would dare say no one really knew Michael Jackson, not even his family. There was a part of him deep down in his soul that no one knew and all of the money in the world could not fill.

May his life and death, be a lesson to all. Talent, fame and fortune does not make up for what is missing in one's life. For some the wealth just makes the emotional issues worse. They can afford the alcohol, drugs, food, shopping excursions, or whatever they think will make them feel better, but won't change anything on the inside.

Regardless of what he did, he was still human. You will reap what you sow, no matter what the world thinks. They can idolize you and treat you like you are a God, you are not. There is only one true God. I pray the Lord uses Michaels life and death as a teaching tool, a warning to all.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

My God, How Great Thou Art

I spent last week at the Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear Alabama. It is located on Mobile Bay. I took this picture the first night we arrived. The grounds of the hotel are magnificent. Very meticously kept with flower gardens and lakes and numerous piers and swings and gazebos. The swimming pool is fabulous, with a large waterfall in the middle of the pool and a large, spiraling, water slide. The food is fabulous. I would recommend the hotel to anyone. I have been to several resorts on different beaches and this was my second time to visit the Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear, and it is my favorite. If you are looking for a place to unwind, this is definitely the place.

Paradox Of Our Time...

Today we have bigger houses and smaller families; more convenience but less time.
We have more Degrees but less common sense; more knowledge but less judgment.
We have more experts but more problems; more medicine but less wellness.
We spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry too quickly, stay up too late, read too little, watch Tv too much and Pray too seldom.
We multiply our Possessions but reduce our values; we talk too much, love too little and lie too often.
We’ve learned how to make living, but not a life; we’ve added years to life not life to years.
We have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways but narrower viewpoints.
We spend more, but have less; we buy more, enjoy less.
We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet our neighbor.
We’ve conquer outer space, but not inner space. We split the atoms, but not our prejudice.
We write more, learn less; plan more but accomplish less; we’ve learned to rush but not to wait; we have higher income but lower morals.
We build more computers to hold more info, to produce more copies but have less communications.
We’re long on quantity but short on Quality.
These are the time for Fast food and slow digestion; tall men and short characters.
More leisure but less fun; more kinds of food but less nutrition;
two incomes but many divorces, fancier houses but broken homes.

Only The Ice Cream Shows...

There's something I want to state
about the problem of my weight.
I know that it's a sin-
to let yourself get in the shape I'm in.
I'm going to control it - I can I know-
meanwhile I'm glad that my other sins don't show.
When I don't read my Bible or pray-
or some angry word I say-
I'm so thankful people only see-
the french fries sagging on me.
And when I tell a little lie
it doesn't hang on my hips like apple pie.
I wonder how I'd look if each unkind thought-
tightened around my knees like the pants I bought.
And whatever would I do to hide my hate,
if it hung outside for all the world to see that sin-
hanging there like a double chin.
If my indifference stuck like glue- the way Italian sausages do,
and if gossiping put fat where I once was thin-
oh my, what a shape I'd be in.
If every little doubt were a piece of lemon pie-
my weight scales could not measure that high.
Thank goodness that no one but God knows-
because when you look at me
only the ice cream shows!

OH LORD, GIVE ME A BACKBONE...

"Oh, Lord, give me a back-bone as big as a saw log, and ribs like the sleepers under the church floor; put iron shoes on me, and galvanized breeches. And give me a rhinocerous hide for a skin, and hang a wagon load of determination up in the gable-end of my soul, and help me to sign the contract to fight the devil as long as I've got a fist, and bite him as long as I've got a tooth, and then gum him till I die. All this I ask for Christ's sake. AMEN! -Bud Robinson
