Your condition does not equal your position...huh?

The Bible says we are justified by faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1 Remember what you were taught in Sunday School as a child? Justified - Just as if I never sinned. That is very hard for our human minds to comprehend. As a truly born again believer in Jesus you have a position of perfection. Of course our life doesn't always reflect that. Our condition is not up to our position. Our position which is in Christ never changes because Christ never changes, still our condition changes constantly. It is the business of the Holy Spirit to work within our hearts and lives, to bring our "condition" up to our "position."There is the answer in that last line. It is up to the Holy Spirit, and your faith in what Christ did on the Cross, the finished work, that raises our condition. The FINISHED work, when Christ was dying on the Cross He said, "It is finished." So if something is finished, you don't keep working, right? But we try, or I do. I have been wrestling with something lately and I don't like what I have been thinking, and there is no way I can change it, but Christ can. I have to put my faith in Him, that He will change me thru the power of the Holy Spirit. I can't do it, and you can't either. No matter how hard you try, you can't do it. We even at times work to change someone else, our kids, our spouse, our friends, etc. The truth is, you can't even change yourself, so how do you think you could change someone else?Ok Jesus, this problem I am wrestling with, I give up. As much as I don't like the way I feel about it, it is the way I feel, and I can't do anything about it, I don't like it, but I can't change it. I am turning it over to You. Holy Spirit come and give me wisdom and power. I need POWER!

Daily Word...

You will never learn faith in comfortable surroundings. God gives us His promises in a quiet hour, seals our covenants with great and gracious words, and then steps back, waiting to see how much we believe. He then allows the tempter to come, and the ensuing test seems to contradict all He has spoken. This is when faith wins its crown. This is the time to look up through the storm, and among the trembling, frighten sailors declare, "I have faith in God that it will happen just as He told me" (Acts 27:25) ~Selected

And Jesus saith unto them, Have faith in God. -Mark 11:22

Through Desert Places...

Why does God lead us through desert places? That He might humble us, that He might test us, and that the true condition of our hearts might be revealed. Not that God might come to know you (He already does), but that you might come to know you. There’s nothing like the desert to help you discover the real you. When you strip away all of the trappings, peel off all the masks, and shed all the phony costumes, you begin to see a true identity—a face that hasn’t emerged for years. Maybe never. ~Charles Swindoll

Put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. ~Ephesians 4:24
